Wonderful

This book is the Handbook for the Confraternity of Penitents, a lay Catholic organization. This Handbook makes their guidelines so clear. To appreciate this book one needs to check out the Confraternity of Penitents website to fully understand the way this Rule is to be lived. Also living the Rule in a Community gives depth to the Rule presented.

The CFP is not a social club, nor is it the easy way spiritual life that many practice today. It requires some self sacrifice, fasting and abstinence, prayer for about 90 minutes a day (The Liturgy of Hours, CFP booklet, Rosary, and other prayers, penance at least once a month, and doing some works of mercy) There is an annual retreat where two days are in silence, and the rest of the time we enjoy one another in prayer, meals, and a trip to Niagara Falls.

Excellent Resource for Inquirers and others.

Excellent resource. Compilies a lot of information that is spread across various parts of websites, and clarifies some of the goals and beliefs of the organization in the Frequently Asked Questions section, which I found most helpful of all. Bought both the Kindle and print editions.
