Not MBTI, But I Was Pleasantly Surprised

I'm not familiar with the author, but I found this book while searching personality types and I was hoping that this would have to do with MBTI as I'm very interested in that and the more I learn about my type the better I have come to understand myself. Even though it wasn't I was pleasantly surprised by it. My MBTI type is ENFP, but when I took her test I scored 2/3 Never-Ever and 1/3 Swinger (which fits into my MBTI type). I was surprised by how well the diet plan fit me. It was like she was describing my life and struggles when she wrote about the Never Ever type and it really hit home that it isn't just me. The diet plan is exactly what I know I need too, from past experience. It starts out strong (because I need to see serious weight loss to stay motivated) and gradually switches to long-term sustainable over the 4 weeks. So it is something I can easily live with while seeing weight loss results.

I haven't started it yet because I'm still in the preparation stage (she has you evaluate which stage you are in to best set you up for success), but I wanted to share what I like and I will update after I've finished it. I have only read the Never-Ever and Swinger personalities because those are my dominant and recessive personalities and I haven't tasted the recipes yet, but here is what I think so far:

Pros:
- I appreciated the Are You Ready Section? because it helped me see that I am not in the right frame of mind to start now (I can't be the only one who jumps right into good ideas and fails because I wasn't ready and then I think the plan stinks?!). Instead she lays out the different steps and how to get to the next step, so we won't set ourselves up for failure...again.
- I think the personality testing was very accurate (at least for me). It really helped me see where I struggle and own that, so I can be successful...this time. She also gives several examples of that personality type for us to see this plan in action with real people.
- She is big on real food. So you won't see a bunch of recipes including fake sugars or boxed foods. Which is a big plus in my book!
- The diet plans include menus (including meals, snacks, and drinks), shopping lists, hydration tips and preparation tips. She has the strict structure for the personalities that need that guide, but for the personalities the rebel against it she gives you plenty of options to choose from. She also gives you plenty of recipes to keep going after the 4 weeks are up.
- She gives you plenty of researched methods to back up the why. I'm the type of person who needs to know why to accept something. If you're not that type you can just skip over those sections, but it's there for those of us who want it.
- She gives general exercise tips and exercise tips that are easily relatable for each personality to get you going and keep you going.
- There are exercise plans included for a 16 minute total body workout for using just body weight, just resistance bands, just dumbells, just barbells, just medicine balls, just isometric to plyometric or combinations of different ones. They are HIIT with strength and cardio, but should be dialed back or up depending on your fitness level.
- Lastly she gives you tips to keep going after the 4 week diet is over and answers some questions she gets regularly to help you stay successful.

Cons:
- The exercises are an HIIT mixture of strength and cardio. Which is a great workout, but for those of us severely overweight and out of shape you might want to take them at an easy pace or pick something else. This can be a con if you are not prepared for it and go into it thinking they are only made for beginners. You need to dial it up or down depending on your fitness level.
- It requires cooking. She is big on real food. So that means that if you rely on takeout or prepackaged foods you will need to find a good system for preparation and cooking. She gives you a lot of tips and walks you through all of the steps on cooking her recipes, so you will not be left on your own to figure this out.
- It's not a huge minus, but something I thought people should be aware of, in case you are the type to throw away all of the good advice because you don't agree with everything she says. I think that some of suggested methods are things that I think the jury is still out on. I don't claim to be an expert (by any means), but articles I have read from Precision Nutrition (a program I trust, but am not ready to use myself) claim that the research is uncertain as to the when to eat certain foods and some other things is really that helpful. Even if you disregard those things it is still a very helpful plan to get you going and understand what you need.

Overall I think that the pros outweigh the cons by a lot. I would recommend this book to people that are looking for a starting point to losing weight their way, but don't want to be on a "diet" long term. For those that need somewhere to start a healthy lifestyle and build habits, but want to turn it into a healthy lifestyle for the long term. Not just start another diet.

Worth it just for the assessment

While a lot of this book won't apply to you (since she's taking to other personality types) the insight provided is spot-on. I've already started on my personal journey using her recommendations. Don't be surprised if you have a couple dominant personality types. It helps to understand the different sides of you and make the choice which is the best plan for you.

Author Chris Hadnagy NLH is a combination of the use of key parts of neuro-lingusitic programming, the functionality of microexpressions, body language, gestures and blend it all together to understand how to “hack” the human infrastructure. Let’s take a closer at each to see how it applies.

Neuro-Lingusitic Programming (NLP): NLP is a controversial approach to psychotherapy and organizational change based on "a model of interpersonal communication chiefly concerned with the relationship between successful patterns of behavior and the subjective experiences underlying them" and "a system of alternative therapy based on this which seeks to educate people in self-awareness and effective communication, and to change their patterns of mental and emotional behavior"

Neuro: This points to our nervous system which we process our five senses:
• Visual
• Auditory
• Kinesthetic
• Smell
• Taste

Linguistic: This points to how we use language and other nonverbal communication systems through which our neural representations are coded, ordered and given meaning. This can include things like:
• Pictures
• Sounds
• Feelings
• Tastes
• Smells
• Words

Programming: This is our ability to discover and utilize the programs that we run in our neurological systems to achieve our specific and desired outcomes.

In short, NLP is how to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve, modify and alter our specific and desired outcomes (or that of a target).

Microexpressions are the involuntary muscular reactions to emotions we feel. As the brain processes emotions it causes nerves to constrict certain muscle groups in the face. Those reactions can last from 1/25th of a second to 1 second and reveal a person’s true emotions.

Much study has been done on microexpressions as well as what is being labeled as subtle microexpressions. A subtle microexpression is an important part of NLH training as a social engineer as many people will display subtle hints of these expressions and give you clues as to their feelings.

A real gem in the bookshelf

This book is one of the best books I read in regards to (IT) security. I do absolutely recommend this book to any pentester, security officer or person interested in this very interesting aspect of security. Performing penetration tests and security audits myself I try to especially implement SE in tests and audits since it is the best way to find issues and the human factor is neglected in most of the tests and reviews.

There was no book like this book before dealing with Social Engineering. At best SE has been mentioned in a book about security and only a couple pages were dedicated to it. But nowadays SE is becoming more and more important to keep in mind. The times when attackers and pentesters could exploit weaknesses in applications and services without the need of user interaction are mostly over. Usually the user has to open a malicious file for example a PDF file. This book explains how this can be achieved and also what to keep in mind when preparing an awareness training.

Reading this book will teach you how SE attacks are being performed, the background and underlying principles of them as well how to detect and mitigate them.

Chris explains everything in a very good and understandable way giving a lot of examples and infos on where to start with further research on the explained techniques (e.g. NLP, microexpressions...).

It is definately a must have.

Very broad, no depth

This book really isn't about computer safety, or about personal safety - it's just kind of all over. By page 40 I was skimming paragraphs, but page 100 I was skipping entire pages. This book is not written for people in the security field, nor is it really written for people who want to know more about their personal security. I think that if you know enough already to be aware of what social engineering is in the first place and have a decent understanding of personal computing safety - you already know what this book can give you. I would classify this book as a collegiate "survey 101" level textbook on communications - the book focuses on very general processes and only the last 60 pages discuss actual examples.

While deciding whether to buy this book or not, I joked with a friend that the fact that the first 28 people who reviewed it gave it 5 stars, was ITSELF an act of social engineering. I am not so sure that is a joke anymore. I've been buying books on Amazon for 12 some years now, and I don't think I've seen a book get that many fanatically raving reviews right off the bat. Looking back again at all those reviews, I guess perhaps if you know absolutely nothing at all about email scams and personal security, and happen to also be a CEO, then this book would be worth reading.

The foreword and first 10 pages talk about what will be in the book. This is a common format, but that's an awful lot of pages wasted on material that is literally repeated again later in the book. And then up front we see material on The Nigerian Scam. If you are a security professional or a CEO, or anyone really - and have fallen prey to this or don't know what it is, seriously, you've got bigger problems to deal with.

Perhaps that example is the crux of the matter - who exactly is the audience meant to be? The author really uses just one example, over and over, of him stalking a CEO at a bar. He learns a few things about the CEOs current life, including that he will be on vacation next week. The thief goes to the CEOs office when he knows he's gone, pretends he mixed up the date for an interview but wants to leave his resume for when the CEO returns. He hands the secretary a zip drive which has his document, which then also downloads malware onto the company's servers. Okay. While this is a valuable lesson on zip drives, do we need 50 pages of text to prove the point? And rather than focus on the inherent dangers of executable files (from media or emails/websites), the moral of this story focused on not ever talking to anyone in a bar. The author also spends most of the book on how to use SE (or basic thievery) against someone without any real solutions to the problems. For example, Chapter 7 talks about how to pick different kinds of locks - which has nothing to do with social engineering and I am not sure how someone uses that knowledge to protect them. Or how Doritos and FedEx hid symbols in their logos - this is SE sure, but what exactly will I do with this information?

Pages 55 to 100 are all about communicating. Unless you never learned in high school or freshman college that every message needs a sender and a receiver - you can skip this part of the book. If you want an exorbitant amount of detail on how people can intentionally act angry or surprised or sad, or can emphasize certain words all to elicit different responses from people - you can skip to page 181. Again, who is the audience here? Some parts of this chapter talk about how Homeland Security agents are trained to use these "tricks" to interrogate people. How many normal people are faced with dumpster diving, stalking, psychologically trained thieves trying to steal information from your company? And if you ARE faced with these problems -your needs are way beyond the scope of this book.

There are some good parts, like the section on microexpressions. The information on how people create their passwords was okay, though you can get those statistics almost anywhere. The search engine tools were interesting, though again that stuff is not social engineering and most computer savvy people likely know this material. The book was well edited, grammar and formatting, which is why I gave it the 2 stars.

Overall the three things I took from this book are: 1) shred your trash so dumpster divers can't find sensitive information; 2) don't use company email for non-business matters because SE's can use that information to create enticing emails with malware hidden in them; and 3) every time you put information onto anything - Facebook, hobby sites, fan clubs, even Amazon - there are many software packages out there that SE's can use to collect all that information and make profiles to use against you.

The definitive book on social engineering

One can sum up all of Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking in two sentences from page 297, where author Christopher Hadnagy writes "tools are an important aspect of social engineering, but they do not make the social engineer. A tool alone is useless; but the knowledge of how to leverage and utilize that tool is invaluable". Far too many people think that information security and data protection is simply about running tools, without understanding how to use them. In this tremendous book, Hadnagy shows how crucial the human element is within information security.

With that, Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking is a fascinating and engrossing book on an important topic. The author takes the reader on a vast journey of the many aspects of social engineering. Since social engineering is such a people oriented topic, a large part of the book is dedicated to sociological and psychological topics. This is an important area, as far too many technology books focus on the hardware and software elements, completely ignoring the people element. The social engineer can then use that gap to their advantage.

By the time that you start chapter 2 on page 23, it is abundantly clear that the author knows what he is talking about. This is in stark contrast with How To Become The Worlds No. 1 Hacker, where that author uses plagiarism to try to weave a tale of being the world's greatest security expert. Here, Hadnagy uses his real knowledge and experience to take the reader on a long and engaging ride on the subject. Coming in at 9 chapters and 360 pages, the author brings an encyclopedic knowledge and dishes it out in every chapter.

Two of the most popular books to date on social engineering to date have been Kevin Mitnick's The Art of Deception: Controlling the Human Element of Security and The Art of Intrusion: The Real Stories Behind the Exploits of Hackers, Intruders and Deceivers. The difference between those books and Hadnagy, is that Mitnick for the most part details the events and stories around the attacks; while Hadnagy details the myriad specifics on how to carry out the social engineering attack.

The book digs deep and details how the social engineer needs to use a formal context for the attack, and breaks down the specific details and line-items on how to execute on that. That approach is much more suited to performing social engineering, than simply reading about social engineering.

Chapter 1 goes though the necessary introduction to the topic, with chapter 2 detailing the various aspects of information gathering. Once I started reading, it was hard to put the book down.

Social engineering is often misportrayed as the art of asking a question or two and then gaining root access. In chapter 3 on elicitation, the author details the reality of the requirements on how to carefully and cautiously elicit information from the target. Elicitation is not something for the social engineer alone, even the US Department of Homeland Security has a pamphlet that is uses to assist agents with elicitation.

After elicitation, chapter 4 details the art of pretexting, which is when an attacker creates an invented scenario to use to extract information from the victim.

Chapter 5 on mind tricks starts getting into the psychological element of social engineering. The author details topics such as micro expressions, modes of thinking, interrogation, neuro-linguistic programming and more.

Chapter 6 is on influence and the power of persuasion. The author notes that people are trained from a young age in nearly every culture to listen to and respect authority. When the social engineer takes on that role, it becomes a most powerful tool; far more powerful than any script or piece of software.

The author wisely waits until chapter 7 to discuss software tools used during a social engineering engagement. One of the author's favorite and most powerful tools is Maltego, which is an open source intelligence and forensics application. While the author concludes that it is the human element that is the most powerful, and that a great tool in the hand of a novice is worthless; the other side is that good tools (of which the author lists many), in the hands of an experienced social engineer, is an extremely powerful and often overwhelming combination.

Every chapter in the book is superb, but chapter 9 - Prevention and Mitigation stands out. After spending 338 pages about how to use social engineering; chapter 9 details the steps a firm must put in place to ensure they do not become a victim of a social engineering attack. The chapter lists the following six steps that must be executed upon:

* Learning to identify social engineering attacks
* Creating a personal security awareness program
* Creating awareness of the value of the information that is being sought by social engineers
* Keeping software updated
* Developing scripts
* Learning from social engineering audits

The author astutely notes that security awareness is not about 45- or 90-minute programs that only occur annually; rather it is about creating a culture and set of information security standards that each person in the organization is committed to using their entire life. This is definitely not a small undertaking. Firms must create awareness and security engineering programs to deal with the above six items. If they do not, they are them placing themselves at significant risk of being unable to effectively deal with social network attacks.

As to awareness, if nothing else, Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking demonstrates the importance of ensuring that social engineering is an integral part of an information security awareness program. This can't be underemphasized as even the definitive book on security awareness Managing an Information Security and Privacy Awareness and Training Program only has about 10 pages on social engineering attacks.

There are plenty of security books on hardware, software, certification and more. Those were perhaps the easy ones to write. Until now, very few have dealt with the human element, and the costs associated with ignoring that have been devastating. Social Engineering: The Art of Human Hacking is a book that is a long time in coming, but worth every page.

While seemingly geared to the information security staff, this is a book should be read by everyone, whether they are in technology or not. Social engineering is not something that just occurs behind a keyboard. Social attackers know that. It is about time everyone else did also.

Best Christian Legal Thriller I've Read

This book takes you on a ride. Strap yourself in and wait for the Final Witness to appear.
James Scott Bell does many of the things that Grisham does so well: tight plotting, believable motivations, crackling dialogue. Like "The Great Divide," by T. Davis Bunn, Bell reaches for the top rungs of legal thrillerdom and succeeds. The narrative is leaner and less colorful than Bunn's, but this only allows it to race faster.
While working in some valid Christian themes, often based on legal examples, "Final Witness" tells the compelling story of Rachel Ybarra, a young paralegal working on a case against the Russian mob. The details of the courtroom seem well-researched, and the struggles that Rachel goes through--with her alcoholic father, her boss, her FBI friends, and particularly her nemesis "The Man"--move credibly to a very satisfying end with a few surprises along the way.
Bell's other books are going to the top of my wish list.

Technicolor Plus

I'm not usually a fan of legal dramas, but then I'd never read James Scott Bell before. This striking, well-written novel will keep you turning pages well after lights out! Set in L.A., Final Witness deals with the Russian mafia, a subject I'd never read about before. Fascinating detail, well-rounded characters and colorful description are obvious trademarks of this author. But it is his fabulous dialogue that elevates this fast paced novel to a higher level of fiction writing. Should most definitely be a movie! You won't be disappointed.

The best novel I've read in a long time!

This book had me hooked from the first sentence. It was a great read and I'm looking forward to Mr. Bell's next book! This guy knows how to keep his readers in suspense while writing well (excellent dialogue for example), and I learned more about the legal system without feeling like factual data was being crammed down my throat. I'd definitely recommend!

An After Effects "Tour de Force" - Trish & Chris' best AE book yet!

Combining both editions of their prior works in this all-new updated version for CS3, Trish and Chris have outdone themselves yet again in this splendid, comprehensive AE motion graphics masterpiece.

Packed with all-new examples and much tighter, more professional editing than earlier works, this latest from the Meyers is their best work yet. The bonus chapters on DVD are a generous addition, as are all the extras and clean layout of the book.

Compared to their earlier books, this one flows even better, with an astounding array of new content and step by step tutorial content that can easily help you boost your After Effects compositing skills quickly.

This book absolutely "sparkles" with professionalism and depth. It's one of the top 5 software books I've read, of hundreds. It really is quite a masterpiece, and can help accelerate your AE production skills immensely.

Updated and revised for Adobe After Effects CS3

This is the fourth edition of the Motion Graphics with After Effects book by Chris & Trish Meyer. It has been updated and revised for Adobe After Effects CS3 and contains many new sections on your favorite software features including The Graph Editor, layer styles, puppet tools, vanishing point, pixel motion and color management. The DVD is packed with bonus chapters and project files. This new edition is quite extensive, as is the software it covers, and the authors have concentrated on teaching their readers how After Effects "thinks" as well as sharing many tips and shortcuts to increase productivity.

The first few chapters get you acquainted with the user interface and introduce the production process for creating a project or "composition". Then you begin to learn the basics such as animation layers, 2D Bezier motion paths and transformation keyframes. As you would expect, keyframes are the basis of animation in After Effects and the authors concentrate on several Keyframe Assistants such as Motion Sketch, Exponential Scale, Smoother and Wiggler.

With the basics under your belt, the authors move on to more advanced animation techniques such as editing and sequencing layers, removing layers, hot keying and managing multiple layer comps. However, it isn't enough to just create layers and keyframes. You want your animation to be as realistic as possible. The authors teach many techniques for this such as motion blur for smoother motion and blending modes for combining layers. Masking and transparency is the next subject to tackle. The authors teach several techniques for creating and working with masks and stencils to add transparent areas in your animation.

It is difficult to go anywhere these days without seeing 3D animation such as the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie from 20th Century Fox or The Coca-Cola Company's Polar Bears. The authors cover the basics of working with 3D animation such as scale and perspective, cameras and lighting. After Effects has some nice default cameras but the authors also teach you how to customize your own, as well as use lighting to illuminate layers, add color casts, cast shadows and project images from one layer onto another.

Besides animating images, you will undoubtedly need to animate text and apply special effects. The authors cover many aspects of these topics including how to replace the background behind the subject of your animation. You can do more in After Effects than animated preexisting graphics. You can also create your own graphics inside After Effects and the authors teach you how to use the shape layers, Brush and Clone Stamp tools, onion skinning and the Puppet Pin tools. Finally, the authors move on to advanced topics such as building complex animation with nesting and hierarchy, adding audio and audio effects and rendering your comp with advanced rendering techniques including Collapse Transformations and Continuous Rasterization.

Both Chris & Trish Meyer have been working in the real world of motion graphics for over 15 years and work at the CyberMotion motion graphic design studio in Los Angeles. They co-authored After Effects Apprentice and write the Motion Graphics column for DV magazine.

Advanced After Effects Motion Graphics is for the editor with some AE miles under their belt. It is not really a beginner book, but does start you off slowly with great step by step instruction. However, you will eventually need this book but buy it together with the Meyers' After Effects Apprentice which starts you off in the AE wourld. Any of the Meyers books are just what you need to learn AE. Highly recommended!!

It's all in good fun, until the soccer player is killed in a freak accident . . . just as Cole and Greg predicted. The uneasy boys vow to leave Wikipedia alone but someone continues to edit articles about classmates dying in gruesome ways . . . and those entries start to come true as well.

To his horror, Cole soon discovers that someone has created a Wikipedia page for him, and included a date of death. He has one week to figure out who's behind the murders, or else he's set to meet a pretty grisly end.

Creepy good!

R.L Stine was one of the first authors who really got me into reading when I was in middle school. Till this day I absolutely LOVE the Fear Street series! But besides his Fear Street books, I've also read some of his other books, including a couple of Point Horror ones. So this is what prompted me to request this book. I like Point Horror :) I like horror, period! The concept of Wickedpedia really intrigued me and it definitely sounded like something I might love. And I was right! It was pretty awesome!

So, we have Cole and his best buddy Gavin just going about their lives... well, actually, Cole is still dealing with the break up with his ex-girlfriend Winnie. And I don't even think "dealing" is the right word! He is very upset that she dumped him for the jock Josh. So much so that he decides he wants to expose to Winnie the real Josh... In order to do this he goes on Wikipedia and tweaks some pages by adding the most ridiculous information ever! I'm talking breakfast cereal ridiculous! Honestly, it was the funniest thing ever and I could not believe Josh fell for it. But I didn't say he was very bright, now did I? ;) Anyway, this leads to that and Cole is more upset than ever, deciding to take the Wikipedia thing a couple steps further. As revenge, he (with the help of Gavin, of course) makes some fake Wikipedia pages for Winnie and Josh and a couple other people stating a couple things about them including some fake deaths. But then things get weird when people start dying just as Cole had written on their Wiki page! Dun, dun, DUN! Cole tries to delete the pages, but that doesn't seem to stop the killer. And said killer doesn't stop there either... he actually then goes after Cole as well! What started out as Cole's harmless prank against Josh turns into a race to save his own life... Will Cole be able to catch the killer before he claims another life? *cue more suspenseful music*

I really liked Cole... most of the time. I mean, he is really easy to relate to, but at the same time I can totally see why Winnie dumped him for someone else: he is CLINGY! Good gods dude, give the girl some breathing room! And Gavin, oh my gods I LOVED him! I think out of all the character he was my favorite! He is just a lot of fun and such a funny kid! The girl Lila, or whatever her name was, I thought was interesting and quirky. Josh was a jerk-face and I didn't really care for Winnie all that much.

The killer... I actually figured out who it was way before Cole put the pieces together. I've honestly become too good at playing the guessing game... R.L. Stine has taught me well ;) Anyway, I was very surprised to find out I was right and I almost started to cry because I didn't want the killer to be this person! I certainly could not wait to figure out what their motive was... and boy was it twisted!

Speaking of twisted, this book is actually quite gory... Just throwing that out there in case you're not into that sort of stuff. Me, I actually used to not be able to handle it, but I'm a horror junkie so I sucked it up and now don't really mind it. Call me morbid, but I actually really liked it... Muahahaha! ;) Well, I should admit that yesterday I was watching Supernatural and these two people started eating each other (episode: My Bloody Valentine) and it was kinda graphic so I started cringing, big time! So yeah, I'm not totally evil and sometimes can not handle it completely ;) But I really don't mind it as long as it doesn't go too over the top.

One thing that really threw me off about this book was the ending. It was very abrupt! I mean, we get to the climax, you know, the final big fight scene with the Bad Guy, and then... no resolution. I kept clicking the button on my Kindle to take me to the next page 'cause I was sure there was more--there had to be more! But... nothing. It just stopped there and I was left over here scratching my head going, "Um, what?" Some people would call this an open ending, but this open ending was WAY too open!

But besides that weird (read: sort of disappointing) ending, it was a great read! It had an interesting concept that I've never read about before (yay!), plenty of suspense and mystery to keep you hooked, and witty writing to lighten things up (at least a little bit). If you are a horror fan like myself, I highly recommend this one!

Be warned, the book's blurb is kind of misleading since things didn't actually happen like how it sates. That is why I included a little bit (because I was trying to avoid spoilers!) of a run down on what really happened.

The Return of Point Horror

Growing up reading Point Horror, I was excited about reviewing Wickedpedia. The premise of using Wikipedia as a way to murder might at first seem like a great way to update the genre to modern times, but there is just something missing - like actual scares. What is more scarier, reading about a future murder on Wikipedia or being chased by a crazy killer? I would go with the latter. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy reading the book for the most part, but I was hoping for a little more bite. The old Point Horror books had several twists and turns throughout each installment, never letting the reader know who is the killer until the very end. Wickedpedia suffers from being predictable and a little boring at times, especially for the first half; though, like I already said, I still enjoyed reading it for the most part. Hopefully, the updated plot will spark an interest with the younger generation.

Reminded me of a cheesy horror flick, not saying that is bad.

First thoughts:

It starts out a bit slow but once the killings begin it starts to pick up and ended up being an okay horror novel. I was a little impressed that for a YA horror it was slightly gory compared to the other YA I have read. Kudos to the author. In all retrospects it reminded me of a B rated horror film especially the ending.

What I thought about it.

Wickedpedia goes just like one of those cheesy teen horror flicks that even though you know it's going to be bad you still watch it. You have Cole who is really self absorbed. To me he comes off as someone who is a nobody but yet thinks everything revolves around himself. He girl friend left him for a dumb jock. She is also going up against him for valedictorian. He is so broody about wanting to get Winnie back and it drives his friend Gavin crazy. Gavin is a bit of a trickster and not all the type a friends you would think a very smart kid would have.

Gavin is rubbing off on Cole a bit when he gets really mad one night at Winnie and Josh and some others. He makes these wickopedia pages about them for fun trying to run Josh to get Winnie back. Then for fun he decides to put on their how they died. It was an innocent joke to just get back at Josh and Winnie but things go horrible wrong.

Wickedpedia though slow at first quickly grabs my attention with the first murder. It was interesting to see the different ways that the murders happen and how they line up with the wickopedia deaths. There are couple of suspects that I kept going back and forth between until I was pretty sure I knew who the killer was. I didn't find it to be very scary but there was a little bit of a gore factor that might make some squeamish.

I think the description of this book makes it seem like it should be a little bit different of a read, so don't go exactly by the blurb.

I really thought it was going somewhere until the ending happened and then I sat there and stared at my kindle screen. I thought to myself, "that is it, really. That is how it's going to end." It has an ending right out of one of those cheesy horror flicks that leaves you going WTF.

Last thoughts:

Overall, if you are into those cheesy but fun horror flicks that are on the Syfy channel then I think you will enjoy this book. It was an easy read and it kept me entertained.
