Very big

If you need a map of the ENTIRE Desert Cities area, then this map is for you, but you should realize that it is over 3' x 3 1/2' when opened -- almost impossible to use when driving unless you first plot out your destination and fold the map accordingly.
Unfortunately, Rand McNally also used to publish a plastic laminate fold-out map of the Palm Springs city area only, which has now been discontinued. These maps, which are very easy to use, are now being sold on-line (often used) for upwards of $500 each.

Does the job, but hard to read

As someone else said, the names and such on this map are so tiny it is practically not useable. But I was desperate, I needed a map for a recent trip, so I ordered this, spread it out on the table, plotted my various routes and marked them in ink, so at least I could figure out where I was. My husband drove, I navigated, so it worked out okay. I am not sure how they could actually improve on it, but it IS very difficult to use.

Palm Springs map

Full marks to Amazon.com (USA site) for sending the map so quickly to me in the UK. Very fast ! Didn't realise how big Palm Springs was - seems huge. Map of typical USA quality - in other words hard to read to those like me who are used to the UK's Ordnance Survey but with the combination of a magnifying glass and / or scanning parts of the map onto my computer and expanding the fine print I managed to make out the location of the hotel for my forthcoming holiday. Many thanks !
