Watchman Nee is the best. He is so good at making the word accessible and understandable. Based on Psalm 23, Pastor Nee expounds on how God prepares a table for us (even in the midst of our enemies). To me it's a must read.

This is a wonderful book. Written in daily format, God seems to speak to me through this book each day as I read it and re-read it year after year. Another book, just as good in daily meditation format is A Joyful Heart.

A rich daily devotional book.

This book has had a greater impact on my growth and development as a Christian than any other book I can think of. Watchman Nee's other books, such as The Spiritual Man, are a little too deep and theological for me to wade through, but Table In the Wilderness is like eating bites of fine steak, rich and deep, but in an easily digested form. It is laid out in a daily-reading format, but all the material is so laden with gold that at the end of the year you want to turn around and go through it again, for the next year. Five stars!

About the Author
Audrey Mullender is Principal of Ruskin College, Oxford, UK, and was formerly Professor of Social Work and Chair of the Faculty of Social Studies at the University of Warwick. She was Editor of the British Journal of Social Work for four years and is an Academician of the Social Sciences.

Dave Ward is Professor of Social and Community Studies at De Montfort University, UK and formerly Head of Social Work at the University of Nottingham. His interests and publications include groupwork with offenders and in teams and organisations.

Jennie Fleming is Director of the Centre for Social Action at De Montfort University, UK. She utilises self-directed groupwork in participative practice, partnership research, and for the promotion of social justice and human rights.

About the Author
Katherine Ackley taught in the English Department at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point from 1979 to 2002 and also served as coordinator of the Women's Studies Program for 10 years and assistant dean of Graduate Studies for five years. Her research interests center on women in literature, with emphasis on literary representations of women's issues and, more recently, British crime writers. Her books include THE NOVELS OF BARBARA PYM (1989), WOMEN AND VIOLENCE IN LITERATURE: AN ESSAY COLLECTION (1990), MISOGYNY IN LITERATURE: AN ESSAY COLLECTION (1992), and ESSAYS FROM CONTEMPORARY CULTURE (2004, 5th Edition). The author of dozens of published articles, she received more than 20 grants for research and development and was the first woman to receive the UWSP University Scholar Award. Dr. Ackley earned a master's degree in English from Purdue University and a Ph.D. in English from Ball State University.

An Architectural Reference Staple

If you are seriously interested in architecure then this should be a staple of your library. Whether an architecturtal student or a professional this book is a most. It it well written in the text and superbly highlighted with examples of photographs and sketches.

As a student in architectural school this was a valuable tool for studies and design ideas for projects. As a professional I would be lying if I said that I never pull it off my bookshelf.

This is not a book for simple or light reading. It is a reference book that belongs in any architectural interested person's library.

About the Author
Diane Cole Ahl is the Arthur J '55 and Barbara S. Rothkopf Professor of Art History at Lafayette College, Pennsylvania. She holds a PhD from the University of Virginia and BA from Sarah Lawrence College, New York, and has received many grants and awards for teaching and scholarship. She is the author of Benozzo Gozzoli and editor of The Cambridge Companion to Masaccio.

Fra Angelico is a captivating showcase of the classical creations of Fra Giovanni de Fiesole (c. 1390/95-1455), one of the great painters of the early Italian Renaissance, especially known for his Christian artwork. Nearly 200 full color illustrations take the reader on a wondrous tour of Angelico's beautiful expressions of faith, while the text spares no detail in chronicling Angelico's life, inspiration, and legacy to later masters including Raphael, the Nazarenes, and the Symbolists. A classical art lover's treasury, enthusiastically recommended for public library and private artbook collections.
