Great Tips

I’m a writer and I started this kind of career three years ago. However, I only focused on writing general articles. There’s a rising demand on “copywriting jobs” and I tend to fail them or give up doing them because I can’t really write a good one. I tried looking for ways, but the internet is so big, that it really gets me overwhelmed, I don’t know which one I should choose. So, I considered this book, took my time reading it and it worked wonders. I tried to apply for a copywriting job offer and I’m glad I made it! I was hired and I’m doing a great job (according to my manager). This book honed me to become one!

A great book for those wanting to explore the depths of copywriting

I really learned a lot with this book. There are so many examples of excellent material used in the past and present, as well as some major mistakes companies have made in copywriting. The examples show details of what is good and bad about the advertisements, as well as the techniques you have to think about. From studying your competitor's products, to motivating buyers to use your product above all others, this book is an excellent source of information.

This book is about copywriting and its many aspects. After reading this book, now I know how to become a successful copywriter. This book has guided me in the complex way of becoming a copywriter. One of the better books on leadership.

This is an excellent, short book on the principles of leadership. I prefer leadership books that use real-life leaders as models rather than the contrived storyline method used here, but that did't detract from its message -- only its delivery.
Hunter espouses a series of easily understood leadership traits.
� Treat others exactly the way you would want them to treat you.
� Listening is the most important skill a leader can develop.
� You manage things, you lead people.
� The key to leadership is accomplishing the tasks at hand while building relationships.
� Trust is the most important ingredient in successful relationships.
� Your feelings of respect must be aligned with your actions of respect.
� A leader is someone who identifies and meets the legitimate needs of their people, removes all the barriers, so they can serve the customer. To lead, you must serve.
� Slaves do what others want, servants do what others need.
� Intentions minus actions equal squat.
� Love is patience, kindness, humility, respectfulness, selflessness, forgiveness, honesty, and commitment. This is also a definition of leadership.
� At the core of human personality is the need to be appreciated.
� Love is the act or acts of extending yourself for others by identifying and meeting their legitimate needs.
� There are only two things in life everyone must do: die and make choices.
� We do not see the world as it is, we see the world is we are.
My experience is that his list is correct, albeit it is somewhat incomplete. For example, it doesn't touch on decisiveness, intuition, and other characteristics that one will find in a good leader. Still, it's well worth the short time it takes to read.

The Servant -- A Review
Everyone serves. Some more than others. It is impossible to not serve either yourself, someone else or something else. The Servant - written by James C. Hunter, simply illustrates this fundamental of successful living in an easy-to-read, hard-to-put-down allegory about leadership through servanthood. These 187 pages are super-saturated with wisdom that can be absorbed by a grade-schooler. In fact, most of us have already learned the principles contained in this book, from our schoolteachers, our religious faith, our family and our friends. We need not to be taught so much as to be reminded.
Simeon, a monk whose chief role is to teach through servant leadership, achieves this task (as supporting protagonist) by gaining authority through altruism. Although told through the experiences of a fictitious "once-successful" businessman, John Daily, the story is about each one of our own natural inclinations, natures and choices. A cast of other supporting characters designed to symbolize a wide demographic variety proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the only villain in this story is self.
If you're interested in reading this book or giving it as a gift to either your staff, peers, family or friend, it will make an impression. If you're interested in improving relationships, this book is a must-read. You could spend a great deal more than $14.95(US) to get this kind of direction from other sources.

"The Servant" is the story of John Daily, a coach, father, and manager who seemingly has it all together. But beneath the surface, the wheels have begun to fall off his life. Many of us will be able to see ourselves in him: driven, worldly, ambitious, anxious; a wreck waiting to happen.

John goes to a "retreat" at a monastery in a search for answers to those questions of his life, the missing pieces of his heart. At the hands of Brother Simeon and five other attendees, John discovers insights and treasures about life, leadership, and himself.

In the tradition of Og Mandino, John Wooden and John Maxwell, this is a book about leadership and love. Much more than a self-help manual or a touchy-feely-go-nowhere narrative, this work defines and redefines principles of leadership, influence, authority, power, relationship, and, yes, love. Though based on a Christian foundation (Brother Simeon is a believer), it avoids being preachy or overtly religious. It lessons are universal in application and timeless in relevance.

"The Servant" unveils hard truths about ourselves and ourselves in the workplace.

Better than I thought it would be

This book is actually a lot better and more helpful than I anticipated.

It was advertised in the Charisma magazine newsletter a while back, and the book cover actually turned me off. The single red rose and key words in the title like "softer" and "woman of God" made me think of all the (twisted) traditional ways in which it would instruct me to, basically, diminish myself and not strive for my full potential in this world. It was such a turnoff, yet something counterintuitive was telling me to purchase it. I'd never bought a product advertised in an email newsletter before. So I told myself that if I was going to guffaw and ridicule a book, I should at least take a look at it first. But really, I'm pretty sure it was God telling me to buy it.

I was wrong about the book's aim and content. I was surprised to find out that it actually is a basic guide to success for women in the workplace or in church ministry situations. I can see now why the book cover and title are the way that they are: It's aimed at women who have been conditioned to think that negotiation, standing up for yourself, speaking up, and setting personal and professional boundaries are mannish behaviors. If it had been titled 'How to Get What You Want and Deserve," those women would probably not pick it up.

So women who struggle with these particular issues and curiosities will find help with this book. It does a good job of convincing that audience that these practices are essential to success in any life pursuit, if one wishes to be effective, organized and respected by others.

Scumaci also does a great job getting across that one can still be a lady while acquiring these traits, but she doesn't do so by reinforcing to her audience that these traits are somehow innately male. She empowers her audience to understand that what they have to offer is valuable, and she teaches them how to project that value so others can see it better, too.

Speaking of projecting, that's pretty much what I was doing when I initially saw the book cover and title -- assuming this was just another one of the evangelical Christian books I've run across that uses our faith to convince women that the path to success is found in the shadows of a support role and staying quiet. I'm glad to admit that I was wrong.

Really fun scenes but muddy plot

I'll fully admit, I like transformation stories of dubious consent. I also like the light-hearted story where people just go at it with little concern for really much of anything else. This story definitely caters to that, with minotaurs and cowgirls, randy wolves and scene after scene. There is also a healthy smattering of slutdom and a lot of other fetishes. I really enjoyed the broad range of sexualities in the story.

What I didn't care was the plot Or, more accurately, the lack of a significant one. It had more cohesiveness than your typically 4-hour porn tape, but not by much. The crimson milk tied the story together and threw everyone into an orgasmic frenzy. But, beyond that thin connection between the scenes, I felt there wasn't much tension or driving force.

In the end, it is a fun stroke story with lots of over-the-top scenes, but not anything I'd be talking about years later.

Best ANESTHESIA REVIEW BOOK EVER!!!!

This is the best ANESTHESIA REVIEW BOOK out there for the BOARDS. Great review for residents as well. Very comprehensive, easy to read, great pictures for people like me with a photographic memory. Excellent questions, really board oriented. This is a must for any anesthesia resident.

Fantastic book for written board prep

Fantastic book for written board prep. It's concise and hits the highlights of every major disease process and surgery you can think of, which was the perfect way for me to study. Great review questions at the end of each chapter that very closely model the real thing. Excellent overall.
